Singletary Memorial Library

Ongoing Events

Beginning computer classes are held at 9 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday at the library.

GED classes are held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Rusk Civic Center, 555 Euclid St.; and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and at 6 p.m. every Wednesday at the library.

Story Time is held at 11:15 a.m. every Thursday for all pre-school aged children at the library.

The Friends of the Library is always looking for volunteers to help with the Ross Senior Activity Center’s programs, the Summer Reading Program, Story Time and other events the organization is involved in.


The Singletary Memorial Library is a LoneStar Library that participates in the TexShare program, the Talking Book program and the TexShare database. It offers public use of its computers with Internet access and movies for check-out. Library cards are offered free of charge to any patron.

Hours of Operation

The 2011 Summer Reading Program theme is “Dig Up A Good Book,” and is open to children from pre-school age to junior high students. The kick-off party is set for Tuesday, June 7, at the library.
