Jim Hogg Park is located at  334 Fire Tower Road in Rusk Texas, if you are traveling through our little town its a great place to stop and take a break.The park offers a quite place with restroom facilities, play grounds and our newest addition is our handicapp play area. You can enjoy a walk down one of the nature trails are just sit under the big pines. The pavillion is avalable for party rentals by calling 903-683-5916.Jim Hogg Park is 178.4 acres of East Texas Pineywoods east of Rusk in Cherokee County. The property was deeded by the City of Rusk in 1941 and was opened the same year. It is now managed by the City of Rusk. A memorial to the state's first native born governor, James Stephen Hogg, 1891 - 1895. During his term as state attorneygeneral and governor, Hogg revolutionized state government and private business by strengthening public respect for law enforcement and establishing the Texas Railroad Commission to enforce state anti-trust laws and promote fair business practices. There is a 1.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Rusk, Texas. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking and walking.
