CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING / BUDGET WORKSHOP

The Rusk City Council will hold a Special Meeting/Budget Workshop on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to continue development of the City’s Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget and consider matters related to the proposed 2026 property tax rate.
Important Budget Information: The FY 2026–2027 Proposed Budget currently available on the City’s website is a working draft being used during the budget-development process. It is not the final or adopted budget.
The City Council and staff are continuing to review revenues, expenditures, departmental needs, staffing, compensation, capital projects, debt obligations, fund balances, and other financial information. Changes to the proposed budget are expected as this process continues.
Updated working drafts may be posted following budget workshops as revisions are made. The City is making these documents available throughout the process to provide the public with timely access to the information being considered by the City Council.
No expenditure, staffing level, project, tax rate, or other amount appearing in a working draft should be considered final solely because it appears in the document. The proposed budget and proposed tax rate remain subject to amendment and final action by the City Council in accordance with applicable law.
