PLEASE NOTE: The document posted below is a preliminary working draft of the City of Rusk’s proposed FY 2026–2027 budget and is being made available to the public as part of the City’s budget development process.
This is not the final proposed or adopted budget. The figures, departmental allocations, revenues, expenditures, staffing assumptions, capital projects, and other information contained in this document are subject to change as the budget is reviewed and developed.
The City Council and staff will conduct budget workshops throughout the budget process to review financial information, discuss departmental needs and priorities, evaluate available revenues, and make adjustments. As that work continues, updated working drafts may be posted following budget workshops as revisions are made.
The City is providing this working draft in the interest of transparency and public access during the budget-development process. Residents are encouraged to review future updates as they are posted and to understand that individual figures appearing in an early draft should not be interpreted as final funding decisions by the City Council.
A more comprehensive proposed budget document will be posted as additional financial information is compiled and the budget-development process progresses. The final budget remains subject to consideration and adoption by the City Council in accordance with applicable law.
